A most unaccountable & inexcusable mistake-Gibson's death was reported in the Welt of 16th June, which was communicated to the Press.

A copy of this Tel has been sent to W.O. (by hand, marked "Pressing" at 3 p.m. today) requesting them to communicate the correct information to Gibson's friends.

Perhaps it is hardly necessary to send it to Press as well?

If it should go to Press, it will require expanding to make it intelligible; thus "A telegram has been received from the Governor of Hongkong stating that there was a mistake in his telegram which was communicated to the Press."
